Mr. Green Thumb... or something!

So this morning Jeff comes in and wakes me up to say he's about to go to Walmart. So I get up and get ready to go with him. We first take my car, FULL with boxes, to his old apartment complex and dump them... its only 8:45, so of course no one is awake! Then we go to Walmart, do our regular grocery shopping, and leave. Then he says he wants to stop at Lowes. When we get in the gardening section, something comes over Jeff and he wants to plant bushes! SERIOUSLY? Plant Bushes? Ok, lets get bushes. We picked out 4, which the ones he picked out we find out, after we get home, will grow to be 10-15 feet tall and wide! The largest bushes ever! He is so excited about it though! I was so impressed!

So Jeff, starts taking the old bushes out. 2 of them were dead already, since the day we moved in, and the others (6) were fine. We put them to the side and he started digging, and tilling, and all that good stuff. Jeff kept saying stuff like, I'd so much rather do this than lay around all day doing nothing. At Noon, we took a lunch break and then went back to the yard. At 2 or so, the shovel we bought today, BROKE! So, I was off to Home Depot. When I got back Jeff was not so excited about the bushes anymore. He was now saying stuff like, Life stinks or, my favoirte, I'm so glad I sale insurance. So, he got the new bushes planted and then started putting in the potting soil... which we need 2 more bags of. So we decided that tomorrow, or something, we are going to finish putting soil down and then plant the MILLIONS of flowers that he picked out, then we'll put the mulch and border down. Now, Jeff's new theory is, today would have been much better if we would have just dropped the boxes off, grocery shopped, he would have fertalized, and then hung out. All I have to say is, I enjoyed being pregnant and having to sit in my chair and watch him all day.... all we could do is laugh! I'll post more when we finish! Oh... and those 6 HEALTHY bushes...

our neighbors took 2, Jeff is keeping 2 (to plant somewhere, sometime?) and we threw away 2! Yes, we are not ever taking on something like this again! EVER! I'd rather pay someone to do it and I didn't even have to work!!

LONG day!

Well, what a day we had! Today Jeff and I got so much accomplished on the nursery. Before lunch I dropped him off at the gym for a little while, ran some errands and then came back to get him. Probably not the best place for me to wait for him. All of the young, in shape, college kids were coming in and out of the gym while I waited... so, I decided, lets have pizza for lunch! Which was gross by the way! Then we went to the mall and then Target. I had been so excited about the dresser I wanted from Target. But, come to find out, Target has the item on display, but no longer sales it in the store... makes no sense to me! Oh well! We got the other items we needed, then went to pick up the chair and ottoman we had ordered awhile back. When we got home we started putting some furniture together. If you know Jeff, you know that he does NOT do that sort of thing. I was so proud of him though. He jumped in and helped me put together the crib. And, while I was doing some other odds and ends, he took it upon himself to cleanout and arrange the garage! WOW! Well, anyways... that was our day! Here are some pictures of the room so far... still lots to do! And, a belly picture at 25 weeks!

My Very First Blog!

I hope to keep this fairly updated! I have friends that have blogs and I've enjoyed staying up to date on what's going on in their lives through this! So.... we'll keep our fingers crossed! Its spring break time and I set out to use this week as "nursery week". So far I've cleared the room out, almost all the way AND I painted it. Now, I have a cold and have mostly laid on the couch all day! Jeff and I say that Friday we will be getting some of the furniture in and putting some of the wall decorations up... I'll lett you guys know how that goes! For now, here's a picture of the room so far :)
