8 months old today

Sadie is 8 months old today... I can't believe how fast time has flown by! Before you know it we will be celebrating her 1st birthday!!!

I checked her weight and height at home. She is 27.5 inches and 17 lbs! YEAH Sadie! She is eating a lot more now too! She gets 20 oz. of formula a day, 1/2 cup of oatmeal, and 5 jars of food!!! We are working on the sippy cup, getting a little better everyday!

She is THAT big...

A lady Jeff does a lot of business with, Stephanie, gave Sadie a cute little outfit when she was born. It is 6-9 months. I remember they day we got it and Jeff's reaction. He said, "That is HUGE, when will be ever be able to wear it?" I told him, "Well, it's 6-9 months. So around December-March." First off... I was WAY wrong! Its the END of February and she just now fits into it. BUT... second, it proves that, YES... she is THAT big!!! It makes me so happy and so sad at the same time!!!

Our GREAT week!

We had a wonderful week. For the most part, it was beautiful weather outside... so Sadie and I took full advantage of it. We met Ashley and Emily at a park in Frisco for a walk and then got the girls out of their strollers to play in the grass. Sadie was FASCINATED with feeling the grass and rubbing it in her hands. SHE loved it.

I always love getting her together with her friends. Sadie is SO social! I think she gets that from her Daddy! The next day we had a 3rd playdate for the week. I always forget to take my camera to the playdates, but not this time. Jane and Cody had us over and Cody has a little walker that I put Sadie in. At first she just sat there. Then she started moving around alot more... never walked, but still had a blast.

Friday, since we hadn't stayed home all week, I cleaned house and worked on cleaning out Sadie's closet. I was just going to clean out one box. That lead to more and more. I had boxes in her closet from when I sold my house in Dec. 2005! I found a nice pair of sunglasses, but my luck they probably aren't in style anymore. Then Jeff came home and we headed to town to rent W and Fireproof. On the way back grabbed pizza and then put Sadie to sleep and had a quiet night... by the way, W was AWFUL!!! Saturday, we woke up and felt like being VERY productive. Started cleaning, finished Sadie's closet. She just moved into her 6-9 month clothes!!! Then moved furniture around... LONG story! Sadie and I had a friend's birthday... Kaden turned 1!!! So, we left and stayed at Desaree's until Sadie was ready for a nap. When I got home, Jeff had rearranged our entire office so that ALL my craft and sewing supplies were in there as well!!! Isn't he sweet. When Sadie woke up we went to town and got Sadie new shoes... she's in a 2-3 now (depends on the brand). Bought a new chair for the living room and had dinner at Taco Cabbana! I LOVE it, but Jeff had never had it before! A NEW FAVORITE :) Not to mention it's CHEAP! We came back home, put Sadie to bed, and watched Fireproof... great movie! I even caught a tear in Jeff's eye. Today, we went to church, finished doing stuff around the house and just put Sadie to sleep! Its weeks like this that just can't help but be happy!!!

Valentine's Weekend

Our Valentine's started Friday. Sadie and I had a party with our playgroup. We all dressed in our reds and pinks and the babies played while the mommies chatted and ate. I will add pictures once I get them. I completely forgot to take my camera... you will see that is a trend with this holiday!!! Then we came home, Sadie took a nap, and I packed. Jeff met us at home and we exchanged gifts. I got a gift card, Jeff got a new gym bag, and Sadie got a book and two small car toys. I try to give her a holiday book on every holiday. Then we jumped in the car and headed to Stephenville. That night we met Jeff's mom in Stephenville and took her to an early birthday dinner at La Familia... YUM! While we were there, a FULL glass of ice tea spilled into my lap! ARGGGG! I was soaked! We headed out to Carlton, Jeff's grandpa Norris' land and stayed out there. The next morning we woke up and just kind of lounged around. We got ourselves ready for the day and the went to Hico to see Freda and Jan at the bank. Sadie crawled around the bank forever! She had a blast... and really seemed to take to Freda FAST! Then we had lunch at More Than Yorgut. I love that place! We got some sugar free soft serve and shared it... Sadie even had some. She LOVED it!

After lunch we visited with Jeff's grandpa Whitt. He gave Sadie a doll and some clothes... so sweet. We headed back through Hico and Jeff got me two dresses at this little boutique I LOVE. Then went back to Carlton so Sadie could nap and we could clean up. That night we had dinner with Jeff's dad, step-mom, and step brother and sister at the Feed Mill... GREAT food. We stayed out there pretty late so to no surprise Sadie was asleep before we even got home! Sunday Jeff's mom came over and went with us to lunch and the Chicken House (flea market). THen we packed up and came home! It was so much fun!!!

Sadie & her Big Brother :)

Hanging out with Daddy

Jeff will sometimes say, she doesn't even know me because I'm not with her all day. Well... as you can tell, she does... and she only wants to snuggle with Daddy :)

Mommy's stuffed animals

The other night Jeff and I took Sadie into her room while I was going through her closet I found an old bag of my stuffed animals. I used to have 2 HUGE boxes of them, but decided to only keep a few when I got married. Anyways... we through them out on the floor for Sadie to play with. We also found a Penguin toy that the Gilley's got Sadie when she was born. I had completely forgot I put stuff up in her closet when she was first born. Sadsie had a ball playing with it all. It was so cute to watch her try to climb over all the animals to get one she would have her eye on.

You can tell that my favorite Disney character was Eeyore growing up. I have about 5or 6 of them. We went to the mall with Ashley and Emily Wallace yesterday. I took her into the Disney store and showed her the little stuffed toys. I was hoping she would go for the Eeyore... NOPE. She liked Piglet and Tiger the most! Oh well... guess she's got to be her own person ;)

Pulling ourself up

Sadie has just about go it. Its funny to watch her try so hard. Most of the time she gets up on her knees and then reaches up and whines for someone to pull her up. She has figured out that if she wedges her feet up against something she can pull up that way (ie. the crib, coffee table). I know eventually she will get it though. Here are a couple of pictures of showing off her new skill & playing :)

Sleepyhead

The other day during Sadie's nap I went in to check on her and couldn't resist getting her picture... thank goodness it didn't wake her up. She was OUT!

And she's off...

Here's a few pictures of my Sadie bug crawling.

Her new found freedom has lead to her getting into EVERYTHING!!!! We had to put up the baby gates. Romo looks so depressed all the time... like he's thinking, "What did I do? Why are these stupid gates up?"
