Last weekend

Friday, Jeff, the kids and I drove to Stephenville and had dinner at Montana's with Nana and then headed to Hico's Homecoming game. We met Grandpa Norris there along with seeing a few great friends! The kids surprisingly, did pretty good. Sadie loves watching all the big little girls and it was cheer night so they were all dressed up in the cheer outfits!

Saturday we woke up and took the kids to the Brownwood Reunion parade. We met Shea, Tyler, and Anslee along with Lori, Merritt, and Caleb. Lori's inlaws were there, so Sadie wanted to sit with Merritt and Caleb's grandma the whole time. She's been asking for Mimi and Nana for over a week now! After the parade we walked around all the booths and the car show. Then we headed to lunch at Chic Fil A. Once we got home, the kids went down for a nap and I headed to get a pedicure... a gift from Shantel!
Sunday, we went to Stephenville for Hadley's birthday party! Sadie and Hadley are about 9 weeks apart in age. Its so nice her having kids her own age in the family!

Tripper Dipper is 9 months old!!

Every month I think the same thing, "how is time going by so very fast?" I think with your 2nd child it flies by! With Sadie I remember always thinking how I couldn't wait for the next big thing she was going to learn to do. With him I keep thinking, NO... SLOW DOWN! I now know that they are only so small for so short a time. I was looking at our calander today and realized that in 13 short weeks he will turn 1 year old! WHAT???? Seriously, it seems so weird to say this but, with children, it seems times goes by so fast while going so slow. Does that make sense???
Anyways, what is he up to at 9 months? Well, he pulls up on any and everything in sight! He cruises a little. Loves to hold our hands and walk like his sister! He can crawl like no other, but I think, unlike Sadie he will be walking before she did. He feeds himself anything he finds, but loves puffs! He has been teething for a month, it seems. Eats like a champ and FAdd ImageAST! Sleeps great, and still wants to nap 3 times a day... trying to get rid of that 3rd nap, its just a hassel! He LOVES bathes. If I turn the water on, he crawls so fast that he will fall all over himself trying to get to the bathtub before I shut him out of the room! He adores Sadie and wants to give her and Daddy kisses all the time. He has learned to shake his head NO... so cute!

Tripp's Famous!!!

Tripp was on Brownwood Online for the Business Expo last week! He's famous ;) And no, that's not Jeff and I! HAHA... that is Jake and Joan, 2 of Jeff's agents. Jeff, Sadie, and I were walking around the Expo while Jake watched Tripp for us.

Where were you?

I was going to school at Tarleton State University. My first morning class was out early, so I walked across the street to the gas station to get a cappaccino before my next class. While I was paying the cashier had the radio on and they were reporting that the first tower had been hit. We were talking about it, thinking how weird! Then in the middle of our conversation, the second tower was hit. I remember, and always will, the look on that man's face! I'm sure mine was pretty close to the same. It was as if we realized in that very moment that this would change all of our lives forever. I spent the rest of the afternoon watching the coverage on tv, still in disbelief. I will be honest, I felt so safe where I was. I think that is part of the reason Stephenville and Tarleton mean so much to me! I felt a sense of security! Hours went by, watching and agonizing with the rest of the world! Then days, and weeks went by. It was as if we wanted to get past this, but didn't know how. I hate that these people were able to take away our sense of security! I never had most of the fears I have now. I hate to fly. I watch people every large event that I'm at. I think what could they plan next. BUT... then I remember that in everything crazy going on, I have THE ONE security... THE LORD! They may shake us, but they will NEVER be able to take that away from us! I think to how awesome it was to see our country come together! I don't care what anyone else says, but President Bush did a wonderful job of that! It saddens me to see how torn apart we are, just 9 years later! I pray that all the awful awful things that happended that day and the days to come, were not in vain... I pray we can join together and at least REMEMBER!

Our fabulous weekend...

Friday night, Jeff and Sadie went to the football game and I stayed home with Tripp so he could sleep. He was exhausted that day! Sadie had a great time and loved watching all the excitement. She's not a big fan of the mascots, though. Then Saturday we had a few friends and their kids over for lunch. It was so much fun! I get to spend time with these people often, but the guys never get to do this sort of thing, so we did it just for them! After everyone left, we loaded up the car and got on the road for Pleasanton, just south of San Antonio. We stayed with our friends, Paxton, Tawny, Channing, and Jaxson! It was so much fun and we enjoyed seeing their new home. The kids had a blast playing and we enjoyed relaxing! Sunday we took the kids to Rainforest Cafe on the Riverwalk. Sadie was terrified at first, but got used to it pretty quick. She keeps calling it the Animal Zoo Lunch. So funny! Afterwards we had some yummy fudge then headed home. Tawny, Channing, and I got to go to a few cute little shops in Pleasanton while the guys kept the little ones. Then another night of hanging out. Monday we headed home and stopped to get Sadie a doll house, since she loved the one in Channing's room. Its been a MAJOR hit so far!

We are truly blessed to have such wonderful friends!!!

Here's a picture I stole from Tawny's blog ;)

Yep! It's 2:30 a.m. and I'm up!!!

Why??? I wish I was asleep like every OTHER human I know! Well... Jeff had an overnight manager's "meeting" tonight and will be back tomorrow. So, I was already having trouble not thinking the boogie man was going to get us. I stayed up watching HGTV until 1:00. I took a codine that I had left over from my c-section so I would fall asleep. And YES... I AM TIRED! But, while I was waiting for it to kick in, a thunderstorm stirred up! No biggie, that means no boogie man (thats how I rashionalized it). While waiting for the meds to start, I checked the weather online, no weather warnings... great! Then I thought... what's going on on my Fox 4 News App? Hmmm... BIG MISTAKE! There was an article about the storms passing through DFW last night and today. And one house caught fire from the storm!!! Ok, those of you that know me know where this is going! I immediately start thinking, I'm home alone with 2 babies. What will I do? What will my plan of attack be? How will I know that the house was struck by lightning in time? Where will we go if it happens? How will I get my keys and shoes....? So, naturally, I get a BRA on! Then lay my purse and flip flops next to the door at Sadie's room. Luckily, their rooms are next to each other. So, now I'm prepared! But, if I fall asleep, I wont be able to know in enough time to get both kids! THAT TERRIFIES ME! So, now, here I am... on the compture drugged up on codine and refusing to sleep! I know how crazy it sounds, but still can't help myself! I know if my mom reads this she will think, "yep, thats Ali!" I also, am regretting not just going to her house for the night.... but why drive 2 1/2 hours to stay one night!!?? Okay... now I'm rabbling! Anyways... I guess its off to search the web. I would say I'll sew right now, but probably not a good idea with how "drunk" on meds I feel!

What... I haven't posted lately??? Here you go...

Well, Sadie and Tripp are seriously blowing my mind! Tripp is now saying mamma... don't know that he has any clue who that is, but says it constantly now! He screams, more like squawks, when he heres a noise he doesn't like and is looking JUST like his daddy! He will sometimes walk when we hold his hands, especially if he wants to get Sadie! He has also gone up a size in clothes... he's now in 12 mo.
Sadie is just the sweetest, most independent little girl! She is outspoken and determined!!! Think she's anything like Jeff... why yes! She may look like me, but she acts like him! She is a smart little thing too! She can count to 10, she can tell you what every letter is, understand when we tell her to clean her toys up and put something back where it goes... and usually will obey it. She also can sing, twinkle twinkle little star and her own rendetion of ABC's! I'm loving watching her learn something new everyday!

And yes... that is a halloween shirt... she's just modeling it for me :)
