Alaskan Cruise

We had the best time on our cruise! Jeff works for sucha great company... to send us on a trip that was so amazing! We left out of Seattle Saturday afternoon then ported in Junea, Sitka, and Ketchican, Alaska, and then Victoria Canada. It was my very first cruise and I was terrified! The first few days I kept thinking we would flip over or sink. It was very rocky water part of the time. But, during my pedicure the girl doing it told me that there are stabalizers underneath and that the ship is designed to not sink more than the bottom 2 decks! That made me feel so much better. We had an amazing room... and even better, a HUGE patio outside the room. The weather was great. Every where we went the people told us it was the nicest weather they had all year. One day when we were setting sail again, it was so nice that Jeff and I sat out on our balcony and took a nap on the lounge chairs! It was awesome! They told us that after we left Sitka, the next day there were 60 miles per hour winds. The ships couldn't even turn off their motors and the people couldn't get off the ship! We were very lucky. I think my favorite places were Ketchican and Victoria! I would love to go back to those places and stay longer sometime! You can have Sitka... its wasn't anything spectacular. On board, Jeff and I pampered ourselves to the extreme! His company gave us ship credit, so I got a pedicure, hour massage, and my hair done the first formal night. Then later in the week, Lori, another agents wife, talked me into doing this huge package special with her. I felt like a queen all week!

When we got home, My mom and Jim met us at the airport to bring us Sadie. SHe looked so much bigger to me. And she was so alert! We missed her so much... but, it was so good for us to get away and have a little refresher! Plus, my family LOVED spoiling her!!!

Now the countdown begins.... We are going to New York in April!

He never ceases to crack me up...

Last night Jeff comes in the room and asks if I've seen his cell phone. I said no. He said he'd looked in his car and could find it there and that he'd looked all over the house. I said to take mine and call it. We did but never heard it. He kept looking. Then he went back out to the car. he called it again. All of the sudden I started hearing it. He opened the garage door and asked me to come outside. The cell phone was ringing from the garbage can!!! He had thrown it away when he threw his trash away on his way inside from work... ha!!!

We went camping!!!

We hadn't used our camper since last October at TSU Homecoming... a few days later we found out I was pregnant and the idea of camping was not my favorite. We finally decided to go again this past weekend. I was excited, but nervous at the same time. I mean, a newborn camping??? But, our camper is air conditioned and it couldn't be too awful, right? Honestly, it wasn't. Despite a few mishaps, all just because we had forgot how to set things up since we hadn't in so long, it was great! We went to Lake Ray Roberts, only 20 minutes from here. Our site was right behind the restrooms. The campsites were really nice, clean, and right on the lake! We only stayed one night for practice, but we are going back next month with my sister and brother-in-law and their kids! Sadie loves to be outside so I think she will grow up enjoying this a lot!!!!

Our past week in review...

Well we had quite a scare last Sunday night... let me start this by saying Sadie is doing fine NOW!

Sunday night, while we were at Walmart, on the toilet paper isle (this will be ironic later!!!) Sadie passed out and quite breathing. Jeff and I freaked out!!!! We got her out of the car seat and got her to come back to and then started to head home. On the way she started to do it again, so we went to the ER. After being there until midnight, we found out that since Sadie was constipated (we already knew that part) she had been straining soooo hard that she passed out. THe next day we went to the pediatricain. He said that she needs to take a bottle with Karo syrup or with Prune juice. The Prune juice worked like a charm and now she is back on track!

Jeff was great! He took the next day off to help me out (I was still very nervous for the first 2 days) and let me get some sleep! On Wednesday my mom came up to watch Sadie so I could go to my doctor appointment and have some time to unwind. And then yesterday Shannon came up to watch her so Jeff and I could go to the Rangers game! It was our first event away from her. We had a great time... talked about her a lot, but had some much needed couple time! We have such great family to help out!

Tomorrow we are pulling our pop-up camper out to Lake Ray Roberts for the weekend. We have only used it once, then I got pregnant. We are taking Sadie. Its got an a/c, fridge, stove and sink! So we are set! I'll post pictures later!

New Sadie stuff

Well, we are growing so big, even though clothes still are having a hard time fitting. Sadie is trying to turn over, not quite there yet, though. When we lay in our bed with her she can almost do it all the way, but I think that is just because the bed sinks in for her to move easier.
We had a ROUGH day the past 3 days. Sadie was constipated and started being very uncomfortable yesterday. The doctor told me what to do and had a tiny bit of relief last night. BUT, after trying again today, we are all feeling MUCH better! I didn't realize some of the stuff that you would go through with infants!
Last weekend we took Sadie to church for the first time, by the way, it was a GREAT message! I'm so glad I finally got to go back!!!! Everyone kept commenting to us how great she was in chuch. She slept almost the entire time. When we were leaving Jeff wanted to take her out of her carrier and carry her himself... he's such a proud daddy! Here is a picture of her at church and then a few from today!

Sadie is 1 month today!

Here are a few pictures... the first is from Portrait Innovations. She is doing much better with sleeping. I think we are making progress towards a real schedule! I've only been waking up at around 1 or 1:30 and then again around 4:3o or 5:00. Then we sleep until 7 or 8. Its getting so much better. We laid on her blanket that Aunt Elaine made us today... we use that blanket EVERY day! Its wonderful! But, today we laid down on our belly and Sadie was pushing on her legs so much and kept lifting her head up! I was impressed! She was also moving her head from side to side. She's growing up so fast... and its only been a month!

Sadie's first run in with boys!

This picture was taken about 2 weeks ago. Our friends Tawny & Paxton, had a little boy, Jaxson, 3 days after Sadie. Its really funny how it all happened. Tawny and I both had wanted to get pregnant and both of our husbands had won a cruise for us to take in August. We had it all planned out so that we would get pregnant at a certain time and have the babies in time to go on the cruise. Every month we would talk to each other and no positive pregnancy test! Finally we had figured out that we had to "stop" trying so that we would still be able to go on the cruise. You can only be up to 5 months pregnant on a cruise ship. I can remember a specific conversation while the boys were gone on a Farm Bureau trip. We said, watch, this will be the month we get pregnant. Sure enough... I met for dinner one night with Tawny and she kept encouraging me to take a test. I thougth it was pointless and I was SICK of wasting money on pregnancy tests. BUT, I took one anyways... sure enough, it was positive. It didn't dwan on me that she was pregant too! Anyways... we went through pregnancy together. It was really nice having someone that was right there week by week at the same stage as me... not to mention it was her 2nd so I could ask advice on so much. Well, they are now moving to San Antonio... which I'm so happy for them, but very bummed! Our little ones were going to be so much fun together! BUT... we will still have Farm Bureau trips to look forward to!
